Angela Anders is a senior data analyst for Clancy Environmental Consultants, Inc. in Honolulu. She has 18 years of experience designing, conducting, and analyzing ecological research, primarily in the field of avian ecology.
Dr. Anders's research design and data analysis experience has included projects such as habitat use, survival, and productivity in migratory landbirds; the genetic and social mating systems and population dynamics of Pacific seabirds; and the effects of large-scale climate on avian population dynamics. These projects have involved both the collection and analysis of field data and modeling of large-scale, long-term population survey data.
Much of Dr. Anders's experience has been in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands: she has conducted research in this archipelago for the past 12 years and worked for 2 years as a wildlife refuge manager in the Northwestern chain.
Dr. Anders has experience working with scientists and resource managers within a wide variety of agencies and organizations, including several universities, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Forest Service, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Department of Defense, multiple state resource management agencies, and non-profit organizations.
Dr. Anders has published 16 peer-reviewed articles and has written many agency technical reports for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Department of Defense. She is a member of the Ecological Society of America, the Society for Conservation Biology, American Ornithologists' Union, Cooper Ornithological Society, and the Pacific Seabird Group.
