Austin Stankus is the Junior Data Analyst for Clancy Environmental Consultant's Data Integration Group, supporting the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument. He has demonstrated technical and administrative abilities through research, education, and management support positions from both academic and professional sectors.
His experience with field research of charismatic mega-fauna allows him to work appropriately with field researchers as he manages and analyzes data. This experience was gained during his positions as a sea turtle responder contracted by the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) and a field technician for the University of Hawaii Shark Research Lab. These positions were research-based, requiring data management and report preparation, as well as requiring physical prowess and safety mindedness.
Mr. Stankus also supports the NMFS long line observer program with his position as Observer Preparatory Course Facilitator for the University of Hawaii and Alu Like Inc. Mr. Stankus maintains a variety of professional contacts while organizing fieldtrips, boat charters, guest lecturers, and teaches in the classroom.
