Dr. Jennifer Clancy is the co-founder and President of Clancy Environmental Consultants, Inc. She has over 30 years of experience in microbiology, water treatment, and water utility operations. She leads a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers renowned for their capabilities of testing and validating the efficacy of water treatment technology. She is an internationally recognized expert in monitoring, testing, and inactivation of pathogens in drinking water.

Dr. Clancy's expertise in drinking water extends beyond microbiology to include all contaminants of concern to water utilities. She has served as the Water Quality Director for a major metropolitan water utility. In that capacity she was responsible for distribution system monitoring, data analysis and interpretation, and operational process control improvements.

Dr. Clancy has been involved in more than two dozen prior American Water Works Association Research Foundation (AwwaRF) projects as PI, co PI, or technical consultant. She was an American Water Works Association (AWWA) Water Quality Division Trustee from 1999-2004 and is a member of the AWWA Technical Advisory Workgroup Disinfection & Microbials. Dr. Clancy has published over 50 technical articles and book chapters. She serves on peer review panels for the AwwaRF, Water Environment Research Foundation, USEPA STAR Grant Program, and Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).

After discovering that Cryptosporidium was highly susceptible to ultraviolet (UV) irradiation, Dr. Clancy was one of founders of the International UltraViolet Association (IUVA) and served as its international president from 2001-2003.

Dr. Clancy has consulted with water utilities and regulatory agencies worldwide on water quality and treatment and environmental issues.
