Timothy Clancy is the co-founder and Vice President of Clancy Environmental Consultants, Inc. He has over 30 years of experience in microbiology, water treatment, particle analysis, filtration technology, and high purity water. Prior to starting CEC, Mr. Clancy managed the field services and analytical division for a firm specializing in high purity water services for electronics and pharmaceutical industries. He was responsible for supervising technical staff in design and implementation of monitoring programs, microorganism control, ozone technology, particulate analysis, membrane filtration assessment and optimization, scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive x-ray microanalysis, and monitoring of groundwater systems for volatile organic compounds and priority pollutants.
Mr. Clancy directs field and laboratory projects involving chemical disinfection. He has conducted pilot and bench-scale demonstration disinfection studies of unfiltered systems in San Francisco, New York and Boston using a variety of chemical treatments (chlorine, chloramine, chlorine dioxide, and ozone; singly and in combination). In 1995, he conducted the initial studies on the Sanitaire Cryptosporidium inactivation device that showed that UV was effective for the control of Cryptosporidium oocysts in water.
In addition to water, Mr. Clancy oversees environmental air quality studies for clean room applications, including development of study design and monitoring techniques for specific client applications.
